Inline Hockey Update

Here's an inline hockey update from Greg Mergens:

The 2006 Minnesota Inline Hockey season is under way at Highland Arena. We will again try to run three 9-game adult sessions out of St. Paul and one out at Hopkins starting the week of May 29, 2006. Individuals looking to play send the league and email and we will get you on a team for summer. This is a great opportunity for anyone that has ever wanted to try it.

Once you try it, you'll be hooked!

Cost is $750 per team, $94 for individuals, for nine games (seven regular season, two playoffs). Team registration and rosters are on the handouts section of the web site at

Highland Arena

Monday - Gold

Tuesday - Silver (upper)

Wednesday - Gold

Thursday - Silver (lower, no gold level players allowed)

And now for something completely different...well, not all THAT different I suppose.

We received a nice email today from Greg Mergens, director of the Minnesota Inline Hockey League. Gret alerted us to both the existance of his league, and also the league's website: minnesotainlinehockey.com.

We've never played inline hockey, but it looks like a great complement to ice hockey - and his league will be playing from March to the end of September. If you're looking for an off-season alternative, this could be for you. We've seen some inline games at Highland Arena in the summer months, and it's fast and furious. Great action.
